Get to Know Her...

For as long as she can remember, Chaya Jones has had a deep love for music. It has become so ingrained in her life that it stands as the focal point of her passions. At the tender age of three, Chaya began her musical journey as a classical violinist, and over the years, she picked up a myriad of instruments and a wealth of musical knowledge.

However, it was in her early teen years—when she discovered songwriting, production, and her knack for performance—that she realized music wasn’t just a passion; it was a viable career path and the one she wanted to pursue.

Despite not yet being out of college, she boasts an illustrious resume: writing for the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, working with the Cincinnati Opera, writing and performing for the Country Music Association, opening for Grammy Award winners such as Tank and the Bangas, and receiving grants from ArtsWave. These blessings and opportunities have taken her to strange places, on eventful trips across the country, and even to an opera based on her teenage years. They’ve gifted her with countless life lessons she’ll always carry and cherish.

Accomplishments aside, music has always been a space where Chaya can be vulnerable and express her emotions in a healthy way—from sorrow to joy, from pain to elation. All of that lives in her music. She writes to seek connection, hoping that somewhere out there, someone hears her music and finds the soundtrack to their own life experience. Be on the lookout for her upcoming project “In My Mind”, check out a live performance in the city with her band, and take a look around to see some of her favorite highlights in the last year.
